Ron Carter's new and first-of-its-kind Jazz-Gospel hybrid album , deeply important to Mr. Carter as it is a tribute to his mother, Willie O. Carter, and is in many ways a lifetime in the making.
The hymns on this album were songs Mr. Carter sang as a child, in church with his mother. Near the end of her life he wrote arrangements of those hymns for her to listen to.
This album features the premier gospel Choirmaster Ricky Dillard, as the vision of this tribute to Mrs. Carter has finally come about in full.
