If you want to get inside the mind of Ron Carter this is the book that has the key.  The Dutch Door pages show you how he makes his note choices.

It is the same method he created 60 years ago, and the same method he uses today.

Many of the pages are cut in half and function like a Dutch Door.  The top half is the first chorus and the bottom half the second.  You can flip the top and bottom halves of the pages back and forth, which shows you all the possibilities of note choices and combinations you can choose.

4.  There are QR codes on each of the page halves with Mr. Carter playing the bass lines so you know what you are striving for.  And other QR codes of the recorded tunes that show you what your own bass lines could someday sound like.

And, as always, Mr. Carter is available to answer any questions teachers may have, through this website or on facebook @roncartermusic.

NOTE:  this book is not available in pdf form because its unique structure cannot be duplicated electronically.
